From 20 mins to 20 secs. How Freight Forwarders can scale their processes in a couple of clicks.

(and save thousands of hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars)

Scale up your processes

According to McKinsey 50% of the largest importers in the US still use spreadsheets to manage their complex international supply chains. Our own local research tells us that 80% of freight forwarders use spreadsheets to maintain their rates database and prepare quotes.

Those of you who just spit out your coffee probably don’t work in international freight forwarding.

In fact, Microsoft Excel is by far the most popular software used by freight forwarding companies. And why not? When Microsoft launched Excel back in 1985 it was a revelation of efficiency. It meant anyone in the business could carry out powerful calculations in a matter of minutes and transform reams of data into usable business information. Cumbersome manual processes were instantly automated. Well kind of. But just like radio pagers, SEIKO computer watches and the Casio FX-7000G scientific calculator with its whopping 422 bytes of memory, there are some innovations, transformational at the time that have well and truly had their day.

Tim Worstall wrote in Forbes back in 2013, ‘without Excel, we'd not have had the incredible financialisation of the economy over the past 30 odd years. And if we hadn't had that then we also wouldn't have had the financial crash of 2007. So there's a dangerous piece of software for you.’

The business world today looks a lot different than it did 35 years ago thanks to the technology that has infiltrated almost every aspect of it. So why is a tool of the 80s still the most popular software?

Excel is great at what it does – it’s simple, flexible, powerful, and cheap. It’s just that what it does isn’t enough for a modern freight forwarder.

MS Excel has its place but not as a freight quotes and rate management system and should be replaced with software designed with the complexities of freight forwarding in mind.

By switching to NavLab, you automate the quoting process in a few clicks and eliminate the need to manage rate sheets and client quotes in Excel.

Most importantly, your commercial data will be secure!
